SCA (Vic) Personal Membership Application

Membership period 1 July 2025 - 30 June 2026

Personal Membership $750 plus GST per annum.

Membership fees are calculated pro-rata per annum from SCA (Vic) Board approval date. Membership fees will include pro-rata for Financial Year 2024/25 if joining before 1 July 2025.

Membership may be granted in special circumstances to individuals who are not working in the Company/Business of a Corporate Strata Management Company Member or a Corporate Strata Services Company Member. Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As per the Constitution, membership applicant name will be circulated to members via advertising names in the members section of the web site. Existing members have 30 days to notify SCA (Vic) Board of any relevant matters. After these 30 days the application will be considered at the first opportunity at the meetings of the SCA (Vic) Board. Once application has been considered by the SCA (Vic) Board, the applicant will be informed of the result.

Privacy Policy: The data provided shall remain confidential by SCA (Vic) and SCA National. By Board resolution, SCA (Vic) and SCA National are not permitted to disclose this information to other parties, including Board members, in a manner that would identify an individual.

Supporting Information and Documentation

The following documents must be uploaded:

Reasoning as to why Personal Membership is being sought (no more than 300 words uploaded as a document)

Authorised Representative Status: Proof of Individual Authorised Representative status (certificate of training) of insurance company/companies/broker/s holding an Australian Financial Services Licence OR Completion of the Vic Insurance Authority Training (The Key Facts) Education Course (purchase at this link). Note: Only Strata (Owners Corporation) Managers are required to provide proof of Individual Authorised Representative status.

Police Record Check / National Name Check: no more than 6 months old (this can be completed online or via this link)

Details of your professional experience in Owners Corporation (Strata) Management OR with a Company/Business who provides Strata Services (no more than 200 words uploaded as a document).

If the above documentation is not provided, your application will not be considered complete and will not be accepted.

Ethics Requirement

Ethics in Strata Community

SCA (Vic) has created an 'SCA (Vic) Ethics Course' short online course which is compulsory for all Corporate Strata Management Company members to complete.

Before your application can be submitted for Board approval, you must complete this course. On receipt of your membership application, a profile will be created for you on our membership system and login details will be provided to you.

The 'SCA (Vic) Ethics Course' short online course will be allocated into your profile and you will receive instructions via email on how to access the course. If the 'SCA (Vic) Ethics Course' is not completed within 14 days of receiving the notification with access details to the online course, your membership application will be void.

Membership Conditions

Advertising as a Member: Personal members MAY NOT advertise themselves as members of SCA (Vic). "Advertising as a member" means publicly announcing or displaying, either orally or in writing, the relationship of the individual to SCA (Vic) as a member of any membership category. Personal members MAY ONLY advertise their Accreditation status including Post Nominals.

Contract of Appointment: Personal members are not entitled to use the SCA (Vic) Contract of Appointment.

Voting Rights: Personal members carry the right to vote at meetings of SCA (Vic) providing membership has been held for 12 months or more.

Change of Details: Members must notify the SCA (Vic) if any details change from this membership application. Details include but are not limited to address, phone number, email address, company you work for.

Change of Membership Type: Should a Personal member become employed by a SCA (Vic) Corporate Company Member, the individual must advise SCA (Vic) of the change so the record can be updated to the appropriate membership type and linked to the Corporate Company membership. Failure to comply will result in cessation of membership.

Cancellation of Membership: Your membership may be cancelled should you breach the SCA Code of Ethics and good business practice within the strata industry. There will be no refund if your membership is cancelled. No refund will be provided by SCA (Vic) should you wish to cancel your membership during the calendar year. SCA (Vic) reserves the right to cancel membership should payments not be received.

Payment Policy: Invoices must be paid promptly within the 14 day period specified on the invoice. SCA (Vic) will provide members with a reminder email should payment not be received within 14 days. If payment is still not received upon receipt of the third reminder, membership and all associated services provided by SCA (Vic) will be automatically cancelled.
