We encourage and invite all fellows, residents, and medical students who are members of PRS to submit their cases for the 12th Annual Scientific Meeting.P

A panel of physician judges will review all cases and select those to be presented live during the Annual Meeting, September 13, 2025, at the Hershey Lodge, in Hershey, PA.

Case reports are acceptable, so long as there is some aspect of clinical importance (i.e. adds to our knowledge/understanding of a particular disease or disease management.

The Top 3 winners will present live at the 12th Annual Scientifc Meeting. Runners-up will be invited to share their posters at the meeting.

The submission portal will close on Thursday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 pm EDT.

After this time, no additional cases will be accepted. PRS Staff will contact you directly once the judging is closed and acceptance is confirmed.

Winners will be announced Monday, August 11, 2025.

RULES:

• Fellows, Residents, or Medical Students who are MEMBERS of PRS are eligible.
• PowerPoint presentations describing original basic science & clinical work related to the broad area of rheumatic diseases may be submitted. Case reports are appropriate and will be reviewed.
• Any work with human or animal subjects reported in submitted PowerPoint must comply with the guiding principles for experimental procedures found in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association.
• All presentations MUST be submitted as a POWERPOINT File. Presentations MAY NOT be in a PDF format.
• Do not include your Name, Institution/Affiliation, or Logo.
• MUST use generic names for drugs & devices.
• Multiple cases may be submitted - only the highest scoring abstract will be invited.

PowerPoint Format:

• The presentation must be truly unique and submitted to a panel of judges in NO more than ten (10) slides, PowerPoint format ONLY. Creativity with title is encouraged, but the title should not give away the diagnosis. Do not include your name, institution/affiliation name, or logo in your PowerPoint submission!
• Slide 1 must be your title slide (no name or institution).
• Slides 2-10 are to be your case content slides and are to include data pertinent to your case. These slides should tell the story of your case. Make sure you have a brief introduction and a summary at the end of the slide presentation.
• Three (3) finalists will be chosen for presenting at the annual meeting. Submitters to Thieves’ Market abstract presentation should be prepared to present in either oral or poster presentation format.

Additional Requirements:

All presenters will need to complete a case waiver and online CME disclosure. Follow up paperwork will be required once presentation format is confirmed. Thieves' Market presenters must be present at the lunch to receive their award and have their picture taken for posting on the PRS website.

Judging Process:

The submission portal will close on Thursday, July 3, at 5:00 PM EDT. All Thieves’ Market PowerPoint submissions will be reviewed by judges. The top three cases will be selected as semi-finalists for oral presentation, and all those not selected will be invited to present their cases as posters. All submissions will be informed via email on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 as to the form of presentation. Submitter will have at least four weeks to create their posters or practice their PowerPoint presentation. Multiple cases may be submitted - only the highest scoring abstract will be invited.

Attendees of the meeting will be the final judges. The audience will be asked to rank the presentations based on four areas: Uniqueness/Novelty; Relevance; Scholarly Value (Add New Knowledge); Overall Merit of the Presentation. Ranking of the finalists for the Thieves’ Market presentations will be announced on Saturday, September 13, 2025, following the oral presentations, during the lunch and Annual Business Meeting.

Prizes: $500 1st place, $300 2nd place, $100 3rd place.

POSTER PRESENTATION FORMAT:

Cases selected for poster presentations by the judges will be announced on Wednesday, July 30, via email.

Posters MUST NOT BE LARGER than 4' wide x 3' height. NO LARGER!

ORAL PRESENTATION FORMAT:

Three cases will be selected by the judges for oral presentation. You should have ten (10) PowerPoint slides for a 10-minute presentation with a 5-minute question and answer session. Presenters are expected to bring their presentation on a jump drive/memory stick. Presentations will need to be sent to Event Director prior to meeting for CME review.

Lodge Cancellation Policy: Any cancellation occuring less than 72 hours prior to arrival will be charged one night's room & tax to the individual.
