Merri-Bek City announces the launch of a two stage design competition for the new Coburg Library and Piazza.

Registration of Interest is now open. In order to participate in the competition, you must register your interest and your registration will be reviewed.

Registration closes at 11:00 AEST on 24 June 2025.

1. Name of the Registrant*

The name of the registering design entity (this may be an individual or practice).

6. Eligibility Criteria*

This competition has eligibility criteria that each competitor must meet. In registering your interest here, all registrants are responsible for checking whether you are, or will be, eligible to enter the competition. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, the registrant may choose to partner or collaborate with other eligible competitors. CityLab takes no responsibility for registrants who subsequently determine that they are ineligible to enter the competition.

Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that to be eligible to compete in the Competition a Competitor must demonstrate at lodgement that it includes a Lead Architect that meets the following criteria:

a practising Architect, architectural company or architectural partnership within Australia, who is eligible to register as an architect in Victoria, pursuant to the Architects Act 1991 (VIC);
has been registered as a business with an ABN/ACN for no less than five years*;
has delivered principal design services on a built project with a construction budget of no less than $10m, and
does not comprise an unincorporated joint venture, architects in association or other partnering arrangement with another entity.

*Note:

Registrants who can demonstrate relevant continuous ABN registration for no less than 5 years, albeit under different ABN’s, are eligible to register if they can provide satisfactory explanation of the continuity of their ABN registration.
