smART Collaboration Request

The Scholars Making Art (smART) program seeks to enhance the student learning experience by forming a more direct educational collaboration between educators, students, librarians, artists, and community.

The program supports short- term involvement and partnerships with local artists and material costs to develop and implement creative artistic projects.

Preference is given to projects that can clearly outline how artists, librarians, students, and educators can work together to accomplish the creative goals of the project as well as benefits of the collaboration.

The smART program invites class instructors, creative individuals, and/or student groups to submit a short proposal indicating the nature and purpose of their project. Approved projects are awarded at least partial funding and support through the library.

The program intends to facilitate interdisciplinary projects in such a way that students gain a more holistic educational experience, while learning to become more effective communicators.

Resulting artwork and projects are showcased through the Georgia Tech Library.

Upon approval, a more detailed proposal will be requested for review and final approval.

Please see art.library.gatech.edu for sample proposals and projects.
