SCPS Scholarship for
BIS/BPHM Students
Summer 2025

As part of our commitment to helping adult learners achieve their educational goals, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) is pleased to announce that we have scholarship funds available for the Summer 2025 semester. Scholarships will vary based on merit and financial need, and award values will range from $500 to $3,054. The purpose of this scholarship is to support students who may be experiencing unexpected financial challenges and/or recent job displacement due to government downsizing or layoffs in the private sector. Scholarships will be applied to tuition and fees for the Summer 2025 term.
Scholarship Eligibility and Requirements
- Commitment to Completing Bachelor's Degree: Students demonstrate a strong commitment to completing their bachelor's degree in order to advance personal, educational, or professional goals (evaluated based on essay response in this application)
- Financial need: Students may demonstrate financial need based on responses to questions in this application and/or submission of the 2024-25 FAFSA and CSS Profile. Preference will be given to students experiencing recent job displacement or significant financial challenges. Note: Acceptance of federal/institutional need-based aid is not required in order to be considered for this scholarship
- Enrollment in Undergraduate Coursework: Students must be enrolled (or plan to enroll) in courses for the Summer 2025 term for either the BIS or BPHM degree completion program at SCPS
- Academic Strength: Students must demonstrate academic strength within the BIS or BPHM programs based on their cumulative GPA
- If selected to receive a scholarship, the recipient must provide a thank-you note addressed to Melissa Lubin, Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Thank-you notes should be sent via email to scps-scholarships@virginia.edu.
- Applicants for this scholarship understand that their responses to the scholarship application questions will be shared with SCPS leadership and the selection committee.
All bachelor's degree students meeting the above requirements are eligible to apply for the SCPS Summer 2025 scholarship.
