Honors Application

Thank you for your interest in the Honors Program at St. Edward's University! This application is only for admitted incoming freshman students enrolling at St. Edward’s in Fall 2024 who would like to be considered for the Honors Program. If you are a currently enrolled SEU student, please contact Dr. Emma Woelk (ewoelk@stedwards.edu), Honors Program Director, to request consideration for Honors.

Honors is a small cohort of students who live together during their freshman year in the Honors LLC, and engage in discussion-oriented seminars, independent research, and more throughout their time at St. Edward's. We invite you to explore the four year Honors Experience on our website before applying.

Honors Applications are reviewed holistically, alongside the information within your application for admission to the university. Successful applicants demonstrate strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity, and are excited to engage with difficult topics from a variety of academic perspectives. Honors students come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and experiences. We're excited to learn more about your interests and passions, and how Honors will help you explore them.

If you are invited to join Honors, you will be contacted by email. If you have questions, please contact Mallory Mazzarella (mmazzar@stedwards.edu) or Judy Karlen (jkarlen@stedwards.edu)

We look forward to receiving your application.

Honors students engage in small seminars and independent research, and work closely with faculty mentors. You will be encouraged to take your interests to the next level through self-directed projects, study abroad, internships, and more. (Learn more about The Four-Years Honors Experience.)

In a paragraph or two, tell us about a passion or interest that gets you excited!

How will being part of Honors help you explore your interests? Don't worry too much about logistics right now--in an ideal world, what would you be able to accomplish in four years at St. Edward's?
