Apply for a Form I-20

Non-US citizens, who are seeking an F-1 student visa to study in the United States should use this form to apply for the I-20 Eligibility Form.


I-20 Request Period


Initial I-20: Fall March 1 - August 1; Spring October 1 - December 1


Transfer I-20: Fall March 1 - August 15; Spring October 1 - December 15


Your application is not complete until the following documents are uploaded and approved. Expect at least a three-day window to create your I-20, once items are accepted.

Collect electronic copies of the following documents BEFORE you begin. Your application is not complete until the following documents are uploaded and approved. Scan as PDF or JPG.


  • Valid Passport
  • Certificate of Finance Form completed and signed
  • Banking Certification Letter and/or Scholarship Award Letter. Bank statements are not acceptable. Students must submit a certified letter from a bank.


Note to Transfer Students: If you are currently enrolled at a U.S. based educational institution (high school, ESL Program, college/university), submit a Transfer Eligibility Form. ISS can only issue your Form I-20 after your SEVIS record is transferred to St. Edward's University.


Note to Graduate Students: Graduate students enrolling must complete the Graduate Attestation Form.

Insurance

F-1 international students at St. Edward's University must have insurance which covers $50,000 medical expenses, repatriation, and medical evacuation benefits. Students may purchase an insurance plan through St. Edward's University or request an insurance waiver and provide proof of alternate via myHilltop.
