Alumni Connections for Exploratory Students

Exploratory/undecided students are those who have not yet decided on a college major. At MSU Denver, Exploratory Advising supports students as they transition through the exploration of self— with an emphasis on academic and career planning. This support exists to provide structured and targeted support for students who find themselves "stuck" in their academic and career decision-making processes. Students who are in the exploratory phase of their academics may not have all the information needed to choose a major, are still learning how to make their own decisions, or they may just need more time to learn about their strengths, interests and values. As a participant in the Alumni Connections program, alumni will serve as a resource and connection for exploratory students as they investigate different careers and industries of interest. The conversation between the alum and the exploratory student can help facilitate new perspectives and ideas during the exploration process, and it will help exploratory students gain knowledge and understanding about potential majors and career paths from former MSU Denver students (i.e. the alumni!).
